Karin has combined her fascination with plants and ceramic glazes to create the essence of rich beautiful flowers and an atmosphere of a summer's day.

Karin Schosser is inspired by plant forms, landscapes and their atmospheric moods, which she conveys through numerous layers of ceramic glaze. Each piece is cast from a plaster mould that she makes from a hand formed model.

Schosser investigates texture, form and markmaking during the trial and error process of glazing, using a variety of surface treatments including carving, inlay, and fusing metals to the surface during the firings. The pieces evolve organically during the making process, producing a variety of colours and effects that are contained within an ordered yet voluptuous form.
