These erected shapes depict a life journey, each representing a personal experience, whilst the negative spaces are the evidence of memories.

Hemanti Patel is greatly inspired by light and shadow and their optical effects on the viewer. Her work fuses bold and simple forms with raised three dimensional pleats; meticulously crafted, each piece is hand stitched and then painted.

The narrow finlike shapes are sewn on to the surface creating a path or a journey for the viewer. The sculptural works require an element of interaction and the viewer should move around in order to see the true depth of each piece.
