Art baSE1 - Frank Fischer
InspirationFrank's work is concerned with translating exciting, well known paintings from different periods of art history, into a style of his own. He creates an abstract colour spectrum where only the title of the original painting relates to the history of its origin.TechniqueFrank makes abstract paintings by pouring household paint on to aluminium stretchers. His technique relies on a combination of the ordered selection of Colour and the workings of chance to create the final image. Frank scans the original picture on to the computer whenhe then increases the resolution, alters and intensifies the colours and stretches them out, creating a frieze of colour. From this he produces the final image with individually dripped lines of paint. Frank uses gloss paint because the smooth running properties and intense shine suits the dense, flat surface of the aluminium.CollectionsWork held in private and corporate collections |
